Another State Government body has refused to directly answer our questions about how a Pambula Beach woman was misdiagnosed twice by local medical providers just weeks before her death.

The family of Simone Crerar asked the NSW Health Care Complaints Commission to investigate how South East Regional Hospital at Bega and South East Radiology in Merimbula did not pick up the uterine cancer that claimed her life.

We asked the HCCC about their investigations, which the family have asked to be formally reviewed.

Just like the Southern NSW Local Health District did, instead of answering our questions, they’ve only given us a short statement.

“The Health Care Complaints Commission is not able to comment on individual matters to the media, including in circumstances where the family has given their consent. We’re only able to discuss the details of a complaint with the parties directly involved – that is, the complainant and the provider concerned.”

This is despite Simone’s family giving them permission to do so with us.
