The Princes Highway at Bodalla has reopened overnight following the death of a motorcyclist.
A collision between the bike and a Toyota Tarago occurred near Brou Tip Road just after 2 o’clock yesterday afternoon.
Detective Inspector Justin Marks said the 79-year-old man could not be saved.
“At about 2:0pm emergency services were alerted to a motor vehicle accident on the Princes Highway. Upon arrival of they were confronted with a motor vehicle and a motorcycle that had collided head on as a result of that accident,” Detective Inspector Marks said.
“The motorbike rider was confirmed deceased at the scene. That motorcyclist was with a group of other motorcycle riders who were uninjured,” he said.
“The driver of the motor vehicle also suffered significant injuries as a result of that motor vehicle collision.”
The 38-year-old driver flown by the Toll Rescue Helicopter to the Canberra Hospital in a stable condition with chest injuries.
