A Queensland court has been told the man accused of deliberately killing a Far South Coast woman is having a mental health assessment.

38 year-old Brazilian man Guilherme Dal Bo is charged with one count of murder and seven of attempted murder.

It’s alleged he deliberately drove onto a footpath in Maroochydore last December to hit a group of men but killed 24 year-old Broulee woman Mallee Smith who was walking nearby.

The case is due back in court on March 30.
