A Malua Bay woman with pages and pages of driving offences has failed to avoid having a conviction recorded after being busted drunk behind the wheel.
Melissa Jayne Love pleaded guilty in Batemans Bay Local Court to mid range drink driving on George Bass Drive at Rosedale on May 24.
Her lawyer asked the court not to record a conviction due to her need to drive 40,000 km a year as the director of a media advertising company with clients in Canberra and Sydney including a law firm.
Court papers said the arrest followed a drinking session at Broulee Brewhouse.
Love was initially pulled over after she was detected doing 82 in a 60 zone.
Batemans Bay Local Court has been told Love told police she had consumed three glasses of wine.
Judge Doug Dick told the 49-year-old mother what weighs against her request to avoid a conviction “is your bad driving record. There’s pages and pages.”
“Your driving record is not pleasant reading.”
Love was convicted, banned from driving for three months and fined $800.
