“This is part of the bushfire season preparedness plan that Forestry Corporation is undertaking in the area to mitigate the bushfire risk to the township of Towamba,” Forestry Corporation District Manager Kristan Peters said.

“The pine logs removed as part of the powerline works will be salvaged for processing over the next two-weeks.

“As part of these works, fire breaks will also be improved in the Ridges Plantation ahead of the summer bushfire season,” he said.

To allow for these works to be undertaken Essential Energy has advised customers in the area that power supply will be disrupted on Sunday, October 15. Further details can be obtained from the Essential Energy website. For more information about Forestry Corporation of NSW, visit forestrycorporation.com.au.
