There are a few welcome road openings leading into the holiday period!
The new South Batemans Bay Link Road is now open to traffic, just in time for the busy Christmas and summer school holiday period.
The extension to Glenella Road will provide motorists with a critical connection between the existing Glenella Road and the Princes Highway while reducing congestion for local residents and visitors.
Member for Bega Dr. Michael Holland says “We want to thank motorists and the community for their patience throughout the work; the end result has been well worth the wait”.
Meanwhile Bega Valley Shire Council advises works to construct a retaining wall within the road closure area of Big Jack Mountain Road will be complete by Saturday 23 December 2023.
This is the final stage in a series of restoration works undertaken to stabilise embankments and repair road infrastructure damage due to multiple flood events.
Big Jack Mountain Road will re-open to traffic on Saturday 23 December, from 6am.
Council thanks the local community for their ongoing patience while these important repairs are made.
