A petition has been started to boost a push to for funding to redevelop the old Bega District Hospital site.
The Chamber of Commerce recently launched a campaign for cash with next year’s State Election in mind.
A petition calling on funding to be committed in the upcoming State Budget ahead of the next election early next year.
Chamber President John Watkin said locals want to see the McKee Drive precinct reused for low cost housing and as a community hub.
“In a few months time the State Government will bring down its last budget before the election so it’s really important that if the State Government is going to fund it then they need to know about it now,” Mr Watkin said.
“They need to be reminded about it now and brought into the public attention so they fund it,” he said.
