Nicole Kidman is reportedly seeking primary custody of the two teenage daughters she shares with Keith Urban amid their ongoing divorce.
The 58-year-old actress cited “irreconcilable differences” when she filed for divorce from the country music star, 57, on Tuesday (September 30). According to court documents, Kidman is requesting to be the primary residential parent, proposing to spend 306 days per year with Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, while Urban would have custody for 59 days annually.
TMZ was the first to break the news of the couple’s separation on Monday (September 29) and the subsequent divorce filing the following day. Sources close to the couple revealed to TMZ, PEOPLE, and other outlets that Kidman and Urban have been living apart since early summer, with Kidman reportedly making efforts to salvage their 19-year marriage.
Social media activity appears to reflect their strained relationship, with the pair noticeably absent from each other’s posts for months. Urban last shared a post featuring Kidman in May, while Kidman’s final mention of Urban came in June, when she posted an anniversary tribute.
The couple, who met at a gala in Los Angeles in 2005, exchanged vows on June 25, 2006, in Sydney, Australia. As of now, neither Kidman nor Urban has publicly commented on their divorce.
