A Surfside man is behind bars this morning after being arrested over an alleged violent sexual assault that only came to light during a brief court mention yesterday.
27-year-old Beaudi Vella is charged with multiple offences including aggravated sexual assault while depriving liberty and robbery with a knife.
The Bay Post reports police allege Vella held the victim with a knife and had non-consensual sex with her last month.

The matter will be next listed in court in the new year.
