Excellence in the Australian Wedding Industry was celebrated this week with one South Coast business receiving a gong at the Australian Wedding Awards.
The Moruya-based South Coast DJs received a Top 10 finish in the ‘Wedding DJS’ category.
Owner Emmanuel Seimenis told East Coast Radio it was great recognition for his team of 20 DJs.
“It feels good, and we are excited about it,” Seimenis said.
“We were the Industry Award Winners for the South Coast in 2022 and this week we were announced as top 10 in Australia in the wedding industry which is really good and we appreciate the recognition,” he contnued.
The Managing Dircetor and Founder of the business, as well as a DJ himself known as DJ Emman, Mr Seimenis said after a tough few years due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, it was great to be out there again doing what he and his team love.
The team of 20 DJs service the area from Wollongong to Mallacoota, offering high quality sound and lighting equipment, with a friendly, professional and personalised service.
“We are like a family, we are all music lovers and all very experienced DJs and I’m very proud of them (the team),” Seimenis said.
“What makes us top 10, is that we focus on the couple who are getting married and we match them with the right DJ,” he said.
In terms of what songs his DJs play most at weddings on the South Coast, Mr Seimenis said it’s a lot of music that gets played “on local radio stations 2EC and Power FM”.
“I’m listening to those radio stations all of the time,” Mr Seimenis said.
“We play those songs most of the time because a lot of them are the classics, like we play Nutbush City Limits and The Horses at almost every wedding.
“I notice that younger couples now want more retro wedding music, focusing on 1970’s, 80’s and 90’s music which is really good.”
Mr Seimenis said he and the team are looking forward to continuing to provide a high quality service for their customers along the coast.
“I just want to say congratulations to the South Coast DJs team, and we will keep doing what we do, for the love of music.”
TJ Productions from Mollymook Beach was the other South Coast business to recieve a nod at the award, finishing in the Top 5 for the ‘Photo Booth’ and ‘Master of Ceremonies’ categories.
