Seven candidates will contest the state election in each of the Bega and Monaro electorates later this month, after confirmation of the ballot draw on Thursday (March 9).
The two major party candidates in the Bega electorate didn’t make it to the top of the ballot with sitting Member for Bega, Labor’s Michael Holland drawing what he described as the “lucky last” spot on the ballot, below Liberal candidate, and current Bega Valley Shire Mayor, Russell Fitzpatrick in the number six position.
Debra Abbott from the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party will appear in the number one position followed by Greg White from the Legalise Cannabis Party and Cathy Griff from the Greens.
In order as they will appear on the ballot on March 25, the candidates for Bega are:

2-Greg White, Legalise Cannabis Party
3-Cathy Griff, Greens
4-Karin Geiselhart, Sustainable Australia Party
5-Jeffrey Hawkins, Independent
6-Russell Fitzpatrick, Liberal Party
7-Michael Holland, Labor Party
Meanwhile the candidates for the Monaro electorate have also been drawn again with the sitting member, The Nationals, Nichole Overall drawing the last place on the ballot.
Labor’s Steve Whan who represented the electoral district of Monaro from 2003 until his defeat at the 2011 state election has landed in the number one spot.
