“About 10.40am a body was located in water nearby,” a police statement reads.

“While the body is yet to be formally identified, it is believed to be that of the man.”

Police have started an investigation into the incident and a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

The tragedy follows the drowning of another man at Green Cape at Eden yesterday.

A number of beaches have been closed because of the extremely dangerous conditions.
