The Premier Chris Minns has been slammed over his inaction on introducing significant gambling reforms on the Far South Coast.
The Alliance for Gambling Reform has attacked the state leader during Gamble Aware Week and comes as one and half million dollars in lost on pokies in the Eurobodalla and Bega Valley every week.
Alliance spokesperson Troy Stolz, who ran against the Premier at the last election, said Mr Minns is all talk and no action.
“I can’t see anything that has changed apart from a few bright neon signs coming down,” Mr Stolz said.
“You talked the big game when you were in opposition but you’ve delivered diddly squad as my grandmother would say,” he said.
The Alliance for Gambling Reform wants to see urgent reforms introduced including the machines powered down overnight, slowing down the spins and cashless payment cards introduced.
Mr Stolz, who blew the whistle on the club industry, said the damage this is causing to many local families is only going to get worse.
“The self exclusion register is an absolute disgrace. It’s not worth the paper it’s printed on,” he said.
“There is a lot more the government could be doing but they only have one interest and that’s the vested interest of the gambling industry.”
