Fresh hope for tiny homeowners along the Far South Coast.
The State Government has acknowledged the challengers faced with interpretations of current planning laws around the moveable dwellings.
Premier Chris Minns has indicated some changes are brewing despite Bega Valley Shire Mayor Russell Fitzpatrick Council being told the opposite several timer by Planning Minister Paul Scully.

“I know Russell. I’m surprised he’s used those words. We’ve generally worked really well with mayors of all different political persuasions down here as well,” the Premier said.
“Look I can assure you that I’ve spoken to the Planning Minister about it and we’re not just kicking it into touch to borrow a rugby league metaphor.
“I’ve spoken to a lot of mayors that talk about second dwellings on farms. They speak about tiny homes in communities. I just think commonsense has got to be the byword here,” Mr Minns said.
“In many cases we’ve been pushing an open door when regional mayors say look we’re up for commonsense rule changes but we need some guidance from you guys so watch this space. We’ll have more to say.”
An eviction notice from Bega Valley Shire Council for the owners of one local tiny is currently being challenged in the Land and Environment Court.
