A citizenship ceremony in Bega has welcomed 15 new people to the Bega Valley.
Mayor Russell Fitzpatrick officiated the event at the Bega Commemorative Civic Centre with an appearance at end by the Governor-General Sam Mostyn.
One of the new Aussies, Paula came to the Bega Valley from England.
“My husband’s from here originally so family and giving the kids a more outdoors lifestyle, being able to enjoy the nice weather and the opportunity over here, it’s great,” she said.
“It’s a strange feeling. It feels really great to be able to be part of such a you know incredible country. All the wildlife and yeh just to be part of it is just great.”

But will she ever lose her British accent?
“Absolutely not! Never going to lose it…ha ha ha!”
