The Australian Defence Force said it is cooperating with NSW Water Police and relevant authorities following a crash between one of its vessel’s and a tinny on Twofold Bay.
Defence had not alerted the public to collision involving a boat from HMAS Canberra on Sunday, until we asked about it overnight.
We have been told four people including two children were knocked into the water with one of the older ones seriously injured but they won’t confirm that.
In a statement to us…a spokesperson says Defence is supporting those involved and there priority remains the welfare of all persons affected.
We have contacted police and ambulance for details about any involvement they may have had responding to the incident.
Update – NSW Ambulance have confirmed they were not called to the incident.
