More bird flu cases confirmed on the Far South Coast with discoveries at Merimbula and Narooma

The outbreak of the Bird Flu on the Far South Coast is spreading with more positive tests.

The H5 avian influenza has now been confirmed in seven birds at Narooma and Merimbula.

That take the total number to nine since the first one at Narooma two weeks ago.

The community is being warned not to touch any birds or sealife suspected of having the H5 Avian Influenza virus.

The official advice is to avoid contact, record what you see and report it immediately to the Emergency Animal Disease Hotline on 1800 675 888.
