Manslaughter accused still to sign bail documents months after being freed

It’s been revealed a a man charged with the manslaughter of his partner has still not signed his bail paperwork several months after being arrested.

Magistrate Doug Dick told Batemans Bay Local Court yesterday 54-year-old Craig Virtue still needed to sign his original bail undertaking and a subsequent bail variation.

The Long Beach man is accused by police of of being negligent in his actions to save his partner Kerry Reinhardt in 2020.

Virtue had been excused from attending the court yesterday by a relieving magistrate a few weeks earlier.

His solicitor Adam Sumbak told the court if he could get copies of the documents he would ensure they are signed and returned to Registry.

The case will be mentioned again in late November.
