A man accused of swindling hundreds of thousands of dollars will face court on the Far South Coast today (Monday May 20) after being charged with 15 offences including online fraud and drug possession.
The 36-year-old was arrested at a Moruya hotel on Vulcan Street last Thursday.
He was taken to Batemans Bay Police Station where he was charged with ten counts of dishonestly obtain financial advantage etc by deception, two counts of dishonestly obtains property by deception, one count of deal with property proceeds of crime under $100,000,
possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit and possess prohibited drug.
In February, police seized evidence at an address linked to a man.
Officers allege used multiple social media aliases and bank accounts defraud 12 people across three states, of more than $230,000.
It’s alleged the man sold fake gold bullions and received payment for goods that were never provided.
He was granted conditional bail to appear before Batemans Bay Local Court today (Monday May 20).
