A Long Beach man has been charged with manslaughter in connection to the suicide of his partner.
The revelation discovered after a brief mention of the matter in Batemans Bay Local Court yesterday.
54-year-old Craig Virtue was arrested and charged five weeks ago then released on bail.
The charge follows the completion of an inquest into the 2020 death of 53-year-old Kerry Reinhardt.
He blamed the death on mental strain following the Black Summer Bushfires and lack of available support in the Eurobodalla.
But in court documents police allege Virtue was negligent in his actions to save Ms Reinhardt .
Virtue’s lawyer Adam Sumbak told the court…his client had just completed an extended stay in a private hospital and sought an adjournment.
The matter’s been adjourned till next month.
** Suicide support is available from Lifeline 24 hours a day on 13 11 14.
