A forensic investigator has arrived at the scene of a fatal house fire at Denhams Beach.
First responders were called to the property on Beach Road just after 5 this morning.
When they arrived the home was fully engulfed in flames. Fire and Rescue NSW from the nearby Batemans Bay Fire Station attended and extinguished the fire but unfortunately the home was destroyed.
A subsequent search by firefighters located the body of a man, believed to be in his 50’s.
He’s yet to be formally identified and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.

Police are still guarding the scene with a fire crew from the NSW Rural Fire Service Surf Beach Brigade also on hand for any hot spots that may flare up.

Beach Road was reopened to traffic in both directions mid morning with Eurobodalla Shire Council road crew members providing traffic control with a reduced 40km per hour speed limit in place.
