Cage rattling over the appointment of former Liberal state treasurer and minister Andrew Constance has seen Local Government Minister Ron Hoenig ask his department to investigate the appointment.
Federal Gilmore MP Fiona Phillips has led the chorus of complaints about the former Bega State MP being given the job.
It’s reported a closed session of council saw councillors vote six for and six against Mr Constance’s appointment with Mayor Patricia WHITE using her casting vote to break the deadlock.
The Mayor campaigned for him during his Federal election campaigns for the seat of Gilmore.
Mr Constance will commence in the new job next week.
