9:03am Update – We can reveal the photos below are actually in fact the second version of what was spray painted on the bridge overnight.
The original message was directed at a local community member opposed to the construction of a new two-lane concrete bridge in lace of the much-loved bridge.
Someone has then altered the message to avoid the targeted person from seeing what was written.
We have chosen not to publish the original message.

The much loved historic Cuttagee Bridge has fallen victim to vandals again overnight.
A targeted racial slur was spray painted on the northern end of the timber deck ten days ago.
Someone then painted over it less than 24 hours with fluro pink paint to blur the offensive words.
Now someone has taken to the northern end of the structure with the words “F… (something illegible) Greens” in bright pink paint.
