A young woman said she was trying to escape from a person who made her feel unsafe at a social occasion when she drove drunk and crashed her car.
Erryn Hope Carter pleaded guilty to high range drunk driving in Moruya Local Court after blowing .235 in January this year.
Her lawyer told the court the 19-year-old had written off the vehicle in the smash and also lost her job.

In sentencing Judge Doug Dick told the Carroll College graduate despite receiving great reports from the MERIT and Traffic Offenders programs, his job is to protect the community.
Carter was banned from driving for 18 months, backdated to January, fined $1000 and placed on a Community Corrections Order for one year.
