Bega Valley Shire Council has confirmed to me REX still owes them $144,000 for use of Merimbula Airport from before they went to administration in July last year.

The figure is $55,000 to Eurobodalla Shire Council for Moruya Airport.

“The timing of payments from REX for using Merimbula Airport was variable before they went into administration in July last year,” a statement from Bega Valley Shire Council said.

Both councils say they will continue to seek payment.

“It is not clear if the $144,000 will be recovered.”

Eurobodalla Shire Council said they will be attending the creditors meeting, and our priority is to see REX continue the Moruya service into the future.
