Five Far South Coast beaches have been selected for increased shark surveillance.

Batemans Bay, Broulee, Narooma, Tathra and Pambula will be watched between sunrise until late afternoon daily from the start of the upcoming school holidays then again from December 1 till April 30.

The move follows some vicious shark attacks further north over the past 12 months.
