Almost 3,500 people in the Bermagui and Cobargo areas are without power.
The blackout occurred just after 11am today (Monday November 21).
Essential Energy crewas are investigating the situation.

The cause is unkown at this stage however damaging winds are forecast for the area today with Bureau of Meteorology issuing a severe weather warning for the entire South East.
Damaging westerly winds averaging 50 to 70 km/h with peak gusts in excess of 90 km/h are likely today, especially across elevated parts of the warning area above 900 metres.
