Moruya RSL Sub-Branch – 60th Anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan Commemoration Weekend
The Moruya RSL Sub-Branch will commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the Battle of
Long Tan on the weekend of 14-16 August 2026. The free weekend will be interactive
and educational with the South Coast Vietnam Veterans being honoured. This
significant anniversary commemorates one of Australia’s largest battles of the Vietnam
War.
Friday 14th August – 19:00 -21:00h at the Batemans Bay Soldiers Club, please join us
for a Fireside Chat with Eurobodalla Veterans to hear the stories of members who
served at Nui Dat, were at Long Tan and the Field Ambulance during the Vietnam War.

Saturday 15th August – 10:00 – 14:00h the HARS Bell UH-1 “Huey” will land at
Gundary Oval, Moruya and be on static display. Engage with the flight crew, Veterans,
their families and the the aircraft.
Sunday 16th August – from 10:00h the Bunker Complex at Donnelly Drive North Head
Moruya, will provide Camp Nui Dat. This event allows you to interact with the camp and
understand what living conditions were like for our serving personnel.
Come and interact with our re-enactors and Veterans to experience some of the lived
history of the Vietnam War and thank our Sailors, Soldiers and Aviators for their Service.
Donations will be gladly accepted at all events with collection buckets to support
Veteran Services.
On Tuesday 18th August – The Eurobodalla Vietnam Veterans Day
Commemoration Service will commence from 10:55 at Rotary Park Batemans Bay
This event will conclude the commemoration activities. The Service will be conducted by
the Eurobodalla Vietnam Veterans, Peacekeepers and Peacemakers
The commemoration activities provide our Eurobodalla community the opportunity to
thank our local Vietnam Veterans for their Service and sacrifice. Please come and
engage with our Veterans, hear their stories and keep Australia’s Military History alive
for future generations.
