Merimbula Cup Tournament

The Merimbula Basketball Association is gearing up for its biggest fundraiser of the year, with the annual Merimbula Cup Tournament taking place this weekend.

Around 370 players from clubs across Orbost, Cooma, Queanbeyan, Batemans Bay, Bombala and Milton-Ulladulla will compete, with crowds of up to 800 people expected at the courts each day.

The tournament helps support the association’s representative program, providing valuable development opportunities for players and referees across Southern NSW.

The event is made possible by a dedicated volunteer committee and the support of local businesses through the club’s canteen. The Merimbula Basketball Association is one of the largest sporting clubs in the Bega Valley, running the region’s only winter and summer basketball competitions.

Community members are encouraged to come along, support the players and volunteers, and enjoy a great weekend of local sport.
