EXCLUSIVE – Police have arrested a woman in connection to the alleged hit and run death of Eden man Trevor Fleet after an intensive five-week investigation.
Strikeforce Delore detectives apprehended the 41-year-old woman, at a property in Wyndham this morning. The town is located 46km south west of Bega.
The arrest occurred just before the 73-year-old was farewelled by family and loved ones in a funeral service at Pambula.
Mr Fleet passed away 24 hours after being airlifted to The Canberra Hospital in a critical condition.
It’s understood the vehicle of interest in the August 31 incident on Newtown Road has also been located.
The arrest follows a public appeal for help last week where South Coast Police District Crime Manager, Detective Inspector Justin Marks called on the woman to hand herself in.
The woman has been refused bail and will face the Bail Review Court tomorrow.
