A Judge has been told a homeless man who has spent 84 of the past 120 months behind bars including eight Christmas’s has a plan to turn his life around once he is released.
The lawyer for Joe Reginald Carriage told the court her client has arranged to move to Nowra and start a business helping young people mistreated in custody like he was.
The 44-year-old pleaded guilty to several charges relating to the possession of two knives in public and hindering police.
Judge Michael Love sentenced him to 12 months jail for the offences but set a non-parole period of four months.
