Far South Coast firearms owners have been told they will receive up to $1000 compensation for handing in their weapons under the first phase of the new NSW Gun Buyback Scheme.

The program, to come into operation in November, is part of the State and Federal Government’s response to the Bondi Terror Attack in December last year.

Under Phase two in the new year, higher value guns will be accepted with up to $10,000 compensation.
