Health authorities say at no time was patient care impacted by boxes of medical supplies dumped on the floor of wards at South East Regional Hospital in Bega.
We reported last week that nurses were being forced to for nurses to rummage through over 20 boxes in the surgical ward to find items needed to treat patients including cannulas.
Southern NSW Local Health District has now responded to our questions about this.
In a written statement attributed to a spokesperson they say during a recent staffing shortfall in their stores team, there was a delay in unpacking and distributing some supplies at South East Regional Hospital. Normal processes are back in place.
