Ratepayers concerned about a proposed quarry are set to turn up on masse today to the Bega Valley Shire Council’s monthly meeting.
A number have registered to address the council during the public participation session at lunchtime to seek support to vote against the development application. for the Bournda Quarry.
Under the DA the new owner of the site would be allowed to operate six days a week for 20 years.
Those against the plan say it will affect those who live in or visit Wallagoot, Kalaru, Tathra, Tura beach, Merimbula and Bega including the spread of silica dust with the closest home just one kilometre away from the site.
