The search is on for a humpback whale entangled in a rope off our coast.
Rescue Group ORRCA reports the big mammal could be anywhere from a few hundred metres to one kilometre from the sand heading north from Batemans Bay to Ulladulla today after it was last sighted off Narooma at lunchtime yesterday.
Spokesperson Jessica Fox said she’s hoping for more favourable weather conditions over the next 24 hours so they can get out to the animal and try to untangle it.

She’s encouraged people to report any sighting to them on their 24-hour Rescue Hotline 02 9415 3333.
The whale was first spotted just north of Tathra on Saturday.
