Moruya’s Volunteer of the Year is issuing a challenge to the town’s residents.
Andrew Nadar recognised for 17 years of selfless service to the town including the RSL and Show Society.
He said he would like to see other follow his lead.
“If it wasn’t for the people then there would be nothing in the town. It’s as simple as that,” Mr Nadar said.
“We need a lot more volunteers. We need a lot more people getting involved because it gets hard, really hard,” he said.
The 37 year old has been volunteering for a number of local organisations including the RSL since he was a teenager.
He also goes out into local bushland and picks up rubbish and takes it the tip where he pays to dispose of it.
