Disney has officially released the second trailer for the highly anticipated sci-fi film, “TRON: Ares.” This latest installment in the TRON franchise promises an exciting mix of artificial intelligence, action, and high-tech visuals that fans have come to love.
The story follows Ares (played by Jared Leto), a highly advanced AI program, who crosses from the digital world into the real world on a high-stakes mission. This marks the first-ever encounter between humankind and artificial intelligence beings.
“TRON: Ares” serves as a continuation of the TRON saga, following “TRON: Legacy” (2010), the sequel to the original 1982 film. “TRON: Legacy” earned $409.9 million globally on a $170 million budget and has since become a cult favorite, praised for its groundbreaking visuals and its iconic soundtrack by Daft Punk.
The star-studded cast of “TRON: Ares” includes Jared Leto, Gillian Anderson, Jodie Turner-Smith, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaj, Cameron Monaghan, and Jeff Bridges. Anderson plays Elisabeth Dillinger, a key member of the powerful family behind ENCOM, the corporation central to the TRON storyline.
Evan Peters stars as Julian, Elisabeth’s rebellious son. Fans of the franchise will remember the Dillinger family’s connection to the original TRON, where David Warner played the antagonist, and Cillian Murphy made a cameo as Warner’s son in “TRON: Legacy.”
