Last year's Lions premiership side, they'll be hoping they don't have to wait another 32 years to win the flag.

The SCAFL comp kicks off tomorrow for 2019 with a grand final rematch between reigning premiers Narooma Lions and Merimbula Diggers in the men's seniors.

President of the Narooma Lions, Harold Mackie, says there are many new faces in this year's side. He says the team is keen to get on the ground and check out the Diggers form up close.

In winning the premiership last year the Lions broke a 32 year-drought. They'll be hoping it's not that long in-between flags again.

The game gets underway at 2.30pm tomorrow at Berrambool Oval.

In the other first-grade game, the Pambula Panthers will play Tathra Sea Eagles at Lawrence Park, Tathra. Eden has the weekend off with the first bye of the season.
