A total fire ban is in place for the Far South Coast and all areas of NSW for today and tomorrow, Tuesday, due to dangerous fire conditions.
If you are travelling outside the region be aware of the fire danger rating for your destination.
The rating for the Far South Coast tomorrow is expected to be severe, in the Shoalhaven and Illawarra it is expected to be extreme and in the greater Sydney and greater Hunter regions the fire danger rating is expected to be catastrophic.
The RFS asks residents to have their fire plans ready.
Today there is a high fire danger rating for the Far South Coast, that is the Eurobodalla and Bega Valley shires, the ACT and Monaro and a very high fire danger rating for the Shoalhaven.
Emergency crews from the Far South Coast are currently fighting the fatal fires on the North Coast and in northern NSW. Fire fighters and support crews from the National Parks and Wildlife Service, SES and Rural Fire service are on the fire ground and more crews are travelling to the area today.
