A 76 year old man has died after a single vehicle crash on the Far South Coast.
Police say about 2.40pm yesterday afternoon, the man, who was the sole occupant of the car - a Mazda Tribute - was travelling north on Bermagui-Tathra Road, Wapengo, when the car left the road and collided with trees.
The man was trapped in the car for a short time before being released and conveyed by ambulance to Bermagui where he was airlifted to hospital. He passed away about 5.45pm
Our sincere condolences to his family and friends.
Meanwhile a GoFundMe page has been set up to help support the children of former Bermagui resident Gemma Cosgrave, who died in a car accident in north Queensland last week. Her partner Steve Arthur was also killed, but miraculously her eight-month-old baby was able to be saved before the car burst into flames.
Gemma also has a seven-year-old son.
For members of the community who would like to pay their respects to Gemma and her family, there will be an informal gathering at Rockwall Beach from 4pm this Sunday at Bermi. Our condolences to Gemma's family and friends
