A large area of the Bega Valley Shire, and the south-eastern pocket of the Eurobodalla, has moved into drought recovery, however the next three months will be crucial for local farmers.

With dryer conditions forecast for much of the state for the next couple of months, the Bureau of Meteorology says on the Far South Coast the outlook is neutral, "meaning there is no strong tendency towards above or below average rainfall".

However warmer temperatures are forecast, and the BOM says it was the warmest January to April period on record for Australia.
