Far South Coast teenager Angelina Nelson has been located safe and well in Sydney this evening.
Police and family of Angelina Nelson (Chakovski) say she's been found safe and well this evening.
The 15-year-old from Kiah, south of Pambula, went missing yesterday morning after failing to board a flight from Melbourne to Merimbula. She'd been visiting relatives in Perth.
It was discovered the teenager had instead bought a ticket to Sydney and had caught a 10am flight to the city. CCTV camera footage captured Angelina walking from Sydney airport to the train station, then returning and walking to the cab rank.
Earlier this evening police issued a statement saying there were serious concerns for her safety and they believed she was in the Hurstville area.
Her family had been concerned the vulnerable 15-year-old had organised to see someone she may have met online.
A short while ago police issued another statement saying Angelina had been located safe and well, and thanked the community and media for helping spread the word.
Her aunt, Jacqueline Radford, from Bega, told East Coast Radio the teenager had made contact with her family after an amber alert went out and was now in the care of relatives in Sydney. "We cannot express how grateful we are for the massive social media and community support and we feel the outcome could have been very different without all the media coverage," she said.
