Many in the Bega Valley would have been glued to the television yesterday after Cobargo local Jade Allen, made her Women's Big Bash League debut for the Sydney Sixers.
The Sixers came up against the Melbourne Stars at Blunstone Arena in Hobart on Wednesday afternoon.
After 20 overs, the Stars set the target at 139/3, with the prodigious teenage leg spinner, Allen, unfortunately not getting a chance to ply her craft with the ball.
The Sixers couldn't reach the target with a flurry of wickets falling late, to finish up 109/8, leaving Allen without a chance to bat as well, and giving the Stars a 30 run victory.
The South Coast, including her former club Bega/Angledale are super proud of Jade, who no doubt we will be seeing a lot more of this series.
Jade signed with the Sixers for 2 seasons back in July 2021. Find out more about Jade HERE.
After a tough afternoon in Hobart the Sixers will be back in action on Saturday October 23 against local rivals, the Sydney Thunder.
