$22m Mossy Point redevelopment still being considered

New Development mossyPoint

A development application, lodged in December, for a $22 million resort redevelopment at Oaks Ranch in Mossy Point remains with with the Eurobodalla Council.

The development will incorporate an upgraded motel and events centre with 24 motel rooms, function and conference facilities to service up to 220 guests, and 75 resort style villas wrapped around a world-class 9-hole golf course, designed by Greg Norman Golf Design.

The resort website says the new facility will include a pro shop, tennis courts, a day spa, ancillary retail and convenience outlets set in landscaped open space and parklands. The overall project will incorporate 90 architecturally designed homes set within a master planned landscape whilst protecting native vegetation and wetlands areas.

From the plans currently available on Council's website, the primary access to the new development will be via The Estuary Estate at Mossy Point rather than the old dirt road that has traditionally been the primary access from the Princes Highway. The new access, via The Estuary Estate will give golfers, visitors and residents direct access to George Bass Drive rather than requiring them to traverse in from the Princes Highway via the sub-optimal Old Mossy Point Road.

The developers said construction of The Oaks Ranch Estate will support 320 direct, and 500 indirect local jobs. A further 40 direct and 32 indirect local jobs will be created for the ongoing operation of the resort and facilities.
