NSW Health says while it's good news no cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the Bega Valley following exposure from two COVID-positive visitors last week, it won't be until the 14th of January, two weeks after potential infection that there will be genuine cause for relief.

The Great Southern Inn at Eden has reopened after a deep clean as has Bermi's Beachside Cafe and both premises are being praised for their COVID-safety measures.

About 90 people from the Eden region including visitors deemed close contacts remain in self isolation.

The manager of infectious diseases with Southern NSW Local Health District, April Roberts-Witteveen, has thanked the public for their cooperation and a sent a shout out to about 100 health staff who had to mobilise quickly to organise pop-up clinics and testing, many coming back from their break to do so.
