As we approach the first anniversary of the devastating Reedy Swamp, Vimy Ridge and Tathra fires I am reminded of the profound effect this event has had on the community. There is the obvious physical loss that so many have suffered and the financial burden that many have to carry following the fires. However, what really moves me is the phycological loss, the sense of grief and stress that many are suffering. Some have suffered great physical loss and seem to be coping okay while others may have lost very little but can be really struggling. As we approach this milestone, reach out; there is help available. If your doing okay then check your neighbours and friends and as a community lets continue to rally together to move on from this tragic event.
