Three rugby players from the South East heading to International Oz Tag Championships

Three Bombala/Delegate locals are heading to the International Oz Tag Championships today (August 2).

Group 16 Rugby League Club, the Bombala Blue Heelers are wishing current and former High Heelers Maree Coates, Patrice Clear and Brooke Morey (nee Ingram) all the very best for the Championships which get underway today in Coffs Harbour with the Maree to captain the team.

She will lead the Australian Tagaroos 37s side in their campaign with games tonight and tomorrow and finals set to be played Sunday.

The Aussie squad’s draw will include teams such as Great Britain, New Zealand, Samoa and the Indigenous Australian team.

“We are so proud of our local girls not only playing on such a big stage with amazing talent, but being leaders amongst them,” a Blue Heelers spoesperson said.

“We wish them all the very best for the Championships and know they will do their home towns of Bombala and Delegate very proud.

“Go get em’ (sic) girls.”
