Young man airlifted to Sydney Hospital after crash north of Batemans Bay

A 25-year-old man has been airlifted to hospital after a serious car crash on the Princes Highway near Termeil between Batemans Bay and Ulladulla.

Police officers attached to South Coast Police District attended and found a blue Holden Commodore towing a trailer had left the roadway before rolling and landing in an adjacent paddock on its roof.

A NSW Ambulance spokesperson told ARN Bega Bay two people were injured in the single vehicle crash that occurred around 4:30am today (Thursday August 1) near Meroo Lake Road Road.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the driver – a 25-year-old man for back injuries before he was airlifted to St George Hospital in a stable condition.

The passenger – a 24-year-old woman was treated for head injuries and taken to Shoalhaven Hospital in a stable condition.

A crime scene was established as police investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage is urged to contact Crime Stroppers on 1800 333 000.

But after being closed earlier in both directions while the medical helicopter attended the crash, the Princes Highway reopened north of Batemans Bay just before 7:30am, with heavy traffic in the area easing.
