A former Eurobodalla Shire Councillor has been busted cultivating around a quarter of a million dollars worth of cannabis plants at her home.
About 1pm on Sunday (5 February 2023), police patrolling the Runnyford area, west of Batemans Bay, located a number of cannabis plants at a farm on Runnyford Road.
Officers attached to South Coast Police District seized the plants – of which there were approximately 75, with a rough street value of up to $258,000 – before issuing a 54-year-old woman a Future Court Attendance Notice for cultivating and possessing cannabis indictable and possessing cannabis commercial quantity.
The former councillor appeared in Moruya Local Court on Friday (10 February 2023) where she pleaded guilty.
Magistrate Doug Dick ordered a sentencing assessment report before adjourning the matter for sentence to February 27 at Batemans Bay Local Court.
