Batemans Bay residents are battening down the hatches this morning with up to 60mm of rain to fall today and wind gusts of up to 67 km/ph.
A Severe Weather Warning is now in place for the Far South Coast as we wait for the impact of what they’re calling “Bombogenesis”.
SES members in the Eurobodalla will be placing sandbags this morning along Wyamba Parade at Surfside and on the Narooma Flats where homes are at high risk of tidal inundation.

Large and hazardous surf conditions this afternoon and tonight. Hazardous for coastal activities including swimming, surfing and rock fishing.
SES units are also on standby at Bermagui, Bega and Eden as well, ready to respond over the next 48 hours.
Sapphire Coast Acting Commander Paul Cortese said they have sandbags available for local residents who need them.
“You can find sandbag pick up times on your local SES Unit’s Facebook pages,” he said.
“It’s important homeowners prepare as much as they can.”
Wind gusts are also forecast to reach 65km/ph at Moruya Heads, 57 km/ph at Narooma, 48 km/ph at Bermagui, 33 km/ph in Bega and 50 km/ph at Eden.
